Begin in Lima with an overnight stay in the finest luxury hotel in the cosmopolitan Peruvian capital.

Next, fly to Cusco, and transfer through the beautiful countryside to the Sacred Valley (Urubamba Valley), a fertile river valley with the high peaks of the Andes towering overhead. During private touring with your own guide and driver, experience the best of the local culture, such as visits to indigenous markets and villages, gentle hikes to important Inca and pre-Inca sites, a visit to a llama and alpaca farm, meetings with renowned local weavers, and tours of outstanding archaeological sites such as Ollantaytambo. Other activities that can be arranged upon request include day treks, rafting, horseback riding, quad biking and a private cooking lesson.

Board the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu and spend one night near the ruins. Your private guide will teach you about the fascinating history of the site and ensure that you have the opportunity to explore the grounds after most tourists have left. Spend the following day exploring the ruins with the option to hike trails to stunning viewpoints around the site.

Return to beautiful Cusco aboard the luxurious Hiram Bingham train. Stay two nights in an oxygenated room at one of the finest and most historic hotels in the former Inca capital. During private touring with your guide, walk through Cusco’s narrow streets and learn about the city’s Inca and Spanish history. Also visit markets, galleries, boutiques and the best artisan workshops according to your interests. Time permitting, perhaps opt to see important archaeological sites on the outskirts of the city, such as Sacsayhuaman. Additional activities can also be arranged upon request, such as a cooking class or meeting with a local art expert.

Next, fly to Iquitos for a three-night luxury expedition cruise in the Amazon River Basin. While on board, observe wildlife along the waterways, choose from a variety of excursions led by expert naturalists, and enjoy gourmet meals created by one of Peru’s top chefs. You might like to visit a local Amazon village, go piranha fishing, spot monkeys and pink dolphins, look for nocturnal wildlife, visit a manatee rescue center, or board a skiff to explore narrow waterways.

On the final day, fly back to Lima where you will be assisted to the international terminal for your onward flight.
