Egypt is a wonderful destination for families—it’s friendly and hospitable, and has attractions that appeal to all ages. This tour is ideal for a families interested in experiencing the highlights of Egypt.
Begin in Cairo. With your own private guide and driver, experience the city as an insider. Our Egypt specialists have left no stone unturned in their quest to uncover the city’s most interesting cultural attractions, neighborhoods and markets—our tours offer the most in-depth Cairo touring available. In addition to visiting well-known attractions such as the Citadel, Egyptian Museum, Hanging Church and Khan al-Khalili bazaar, also tour our favorite neighborhoods filled with beautiful Fatimid, Islamic, Mameluke, Ottoman, Coptic and Art Deco architecture; well-preserved medieval residences formerly occupied by wealthy merchants; and fascinating markets and shopping streets. Also visit the Pharaonic Village, an educational theme park that recreates daily life in ancient Egypt and has a hands-on art center where children can learn various traditional handicrafts. One day, take a camel ride during a private excursion to the impressive Pyramids of Giza. Also enjoy a fun dinner or lunch cruise on the Nile, and the fantastic Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids.
Next, cruise the Nile River aboard a luxury boat. Our travelers stay in a top suite and have their own private Egyptologist to accompany them on private tours of the extraordinary archaeological sites such as the Temple of Philae in Aswan, Temple of Horus in Edfu and Valleys of the Kings and Queens in Luxor. Other activities include visiting a Nubian village in Aswan and the Mummification Museum in Luxor. If desired, we can arrange for an early-morning hot-air balloon ride in Luxor, or a side trip to visit the beautiful temples of Abu Simbel.
The tour concludes with one night in Cairo.
