Seville, Cordoba, Granada

This private luxury tour focuses on Andalusia's most atmospheric places, from charming whitewashed villages to magnificent Moorish monuments, and includes some of the region's most luxurious hotels.

Begin in Seville, the capital of Andalusia and a city flavored as much by the sounds of flamenco and the smell of orange blossoms as by its 500-year domination by the Moors. Take an insider's tour of this beautiful city. Explore the charming Santa Cruz neighborhood and tour the gardens and mosaic tile-covered rooms of the Reales Alcazares—a spectacular Moorish palace. Visit the world's largest Gothic cathedral (which contains the tomb of Christopher Columbus), browse specialty boutiques and markets, and see the city's most beautiful plazas, churches and historic homes. One evening, enjoy a private tasting tour of some of Seville's most beloved tapas bars. Attend a flamenco performance another evening. One day, enjoy a private excursion to Jerez de la Frontera. Learn about Andalusian horses and enjoy uniquely choreographed horse show at an equestrian school, then visit a local sherry bodega for a tasting. Alternatively, opt to visit a family-run bull ranch to learn about the history of breeding and raising fighting bulls. If desired, additional activities can be arranged while in Seville, including visits to ceramics workshops in the Triana neighborhood, carriage rides through Plaza de Espana and Maria Luisa Park, seeing contemporary architecture such as Metropol Parasol, private flamenco dance or guitar lessons, architecture tours of World Expo buildings, and excursions to nearby Roman ruins or pueblos blancos (whitewashed villages).

Next, travel to Cordoba, a capital under the Romans and the Moors. During private touring, explore the highlights of the UNESCO-listed city center, such as the incredible Cathedral-Mosque, the ancient Roman bridge, and the narrow backstreets lined with whitewashed buildings and historic buildings in the old Jewish Quarter.

Transfer to Granada with your private driver, and, if desired, stop to see the ruins of Medina Azahara en route. Continue to Granada, one of the richest and most populated cities in Europe during Moorish rule and still one of Spain's most breathtaking cities. With your expert private guide, tour the extraordinary Alhambra—one of the highlights of Spain—a stunning Moorish castle, palace and garden complex on a hillside overlooking the town. Visit the Generalife, the summer palace and gardens of Moorish royalty. See additional city highlights such as the opulent Royal Chapel, where monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella are buried. Also tour the labyrinthine streets of the Albaicin—the old Arab Quarter—and discover a world full of winding, hilly streets, Moorish fountains, and teterías (Arabic tearooms). For dinner, Artisans of Leisure can make reservations at a restaurant with views of the Alhambra.

Upon request, Artisans of Leisure can extend this tour to include beach time in Marbella or cultural touring in Madrid.
