Family Tour of Spain

(11 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Madrid, Seville, Granada, Barcelona

This private tour of Spain has been designed by our family travel experts to provide the best of this exciting, colorful country, filled with distinctive culture, food, people and scenery. Experience the vitality of Spain on a tour specially designed to delight all members of the family.

Begin in Madrid, the capital of Spain, with three nights at the legendary Hotel Ritz. With your expert private guide, explore the highlights of the city. Explore historic squares and lively markets. See world-renowned paintings in museums such as the Prado Museum and Reina Sofia. Tour the majestic Royal Palace. One evening, enjoy a private “tapas tasting” tour of some of some of Madrid’s most beloved tapas bars. Also enjoy optional activities according to your family’s interests, such as attending a Real Madrid soccer game accompanied by a soccer expert. One day, take a private excursion to Toledo for a guided tour of the city’s splendid medieval center. Alternatively, visit Segovia and see the ancient Roman aqueduct, atmospheric backstreets, and the fairy-tale Alcazar castle, which perches on a rocky outcrop.

Next, board the high speed train and head south to Andalusia. If desired, stop in Cordoba, a capital under the Romans and the Moors, and tour the UNESCO-listed city center en route to Seville, the capital of Andalusia and a city flavored as much by the sounds of flamenco and the smell of orange blossoms as by its 500-year domination by the Moors. Take an insider’s tour of this beautiful city. Explore the charming Santa Cruz neighborhood, tour the Reales Alcazares—a spectacular Moorish palace, see the world's largest Gothic cathedral (which contains the tomb of Christopher Columbus), and perhaps take a horse-drawn carriage ride. Or, enjoy a private excursion to Jerez de la Frontera to visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, one of the most famous horse breeding and training centers in the world. One evening, you may wish to attend a bullfight at the famed bullring.

Continue to a luxury country estate near Granada. With your expert private guide, tour the extraordinary Alhambra—one of the highlights of Spain—a stunning Moorish castle, palace and garden complex on a hillside overlooking the town. Visit the Generalife, the summer palace and gardens of Moorish royalty. Also tour the labyrinthine streets of the Albaicin—the old Arab Quarter—and discover a world full of winding, hilly streets, Moorish fountains, and teterías (Arabic tearooms). During free time, optional activities can be arranged, such as ATV rides, biking excursions, and private Spanish guitar lessons.

Next, fly to Barcelona and enjoy personalized private touring in the city. Tour Gaudi’s fantastical structures such as Sagrada Familia and the hillside Parc Guell. Take a guided tour through the Gothic Quarter’s narrow streets. Stroll along Las Ramblas—Barcelona’s most famous boulevard—and stop for local snacks at La Boqueria Market. Other family-friendly options include the Tibidabo Amusement Park, the aquarium, hiking in Montserrat or biking excursions in the nearby countryside. During free time, the entire family will enjoy your luxury hotel overlooking the sea.
