Begin in lively Melbourne. Enjoy private touring of the city’s highlights, including the chic South Yarra neighborhood, the Queen Victoria Markets, and seeing landmarks such as the Victorian Arts Centre, the Melbourne Cricket Club, Federation Square, and the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens. One day enjoy a wildlife excursion to see the Koala Conservation Center and “penguin parade” on Phillip Island. Additional excursions can be arranged upon request, such as a scenic flight over the Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles.
Continue to Ayers Rock (Uluru), surrounded by vast blue sky and red earth in Australia’s beautiful Red Centre. Learn about Aboriginal bushtucker cuisine and legends of the Dreamtime. Tour the base of Ayers Rock and view Aboriginal rock art in caves and waterholes (billabongs). Walk through the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) and nearby sand dunes. Take desert walks and learn about the unique flora and fauna in the Outback. One night, dine under the stars while an astronomer points out the southern constellations in the clear desert night sky and a didjeridoo musician drones in the background. Optional activities can be arranged such as camel excursions, helicopter flights over the Outback landscape, or visits to remote cave art sites.
Next, fly to Tropical North Queensland for a stay at Silky Oaks Lodge, located in the middle of the rainforest. While there, enjoy a private tour of the Daintree Rainforest—the world’s oldest living rainforest and a protected World Heritage site. Also take a ride on the Kuranda Skyrail.
Continue to Lizard Island, Australia's only luxury resort in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Days are at leisure to enjoy the resort’s superb location, snorkel, dive, kayak, play tennis, walk in the jungle or spa treatments.
