This private tour of Laos is ideal for travelers wanting to experience the best of one of Southeast Asia's most traditional and atmospheric destinations. It features private touring of cultural and scenic highlights with your own guide and driver, the best hotels in Laos, and ample time to relax among the Buddhist temples and palm trees.
Begin in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. During private cultural touring, visit highlights such as Pha That Luang, a gilded Buddhist stupa that's the most important monument in the country, beautiful wats (Buddhist temples), and the French colonial-era Presidential Palace, as well as interesting markets filled with hand-woven Lao textiles and local specialties such as Lao coffee and purple sticky rice.
Next, fly to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed town along the Mekong River in northern Laos. With your own expert guide and driver, experience the best of the town and surrounding region. Explore streets lined with a unique blend of traditional Lao and French-colonial architecture. Visit cultural attractions, including museums and important temples. Learn about Buddhism and its central role in Lao culture and society. Explore markets, visit hill tribe villages, meet silk weavers and contemporary textile designers, and take a memorable cruise on the Mekong, visiting craft villages and a cave filled with Buddhist statues.
Upon request, Artisans of Leisure can also incorporate special touring such as hiking, biking, kayaking, cooking classes, jungle excursions, a visit to a private home, photography excursions, attending alms processions and more.
This tour combines nicely with touring elsewhere in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

My time in Laos was very special. The guides made me feel like a local…the private touring made all the difference. I feel privileged to have enjoyed such a thoughtfully constructed tour to a treasure of a country.

All I can say is WOW! It is unbelievable how many things we were able to see and do in Hong Kong, Cambodia and Laos. The tour was truly spectacular. Our guides were also outstanding.
