Just Back Vienna: Culture, History, Design & Luxury

We’ve just returned from another wonderful visit to Vienna, Austria, where we enjoyed some of our favorite museums, relaxed with Viennese cafe culture and explored the incredible boutiques that showcase fine Austrian craftsmanship.

We always enjoy touring the wonderful architecture around the city, including the many highlights from the Baroque and Secessionist periods, such as the Hofburg imperial palace and buildings designed by Otto Wagner.

Cafe culture is an important part of Viennese life. We allowed plenty of time to relax at our favorite local spots for Viennese pastries, cakes and coffee. Every evening, we had reservations at Vienna’s best restaurants, where we enjoyed innovative contemporary cuisine, as well as classic dishes such as Wiener schnitzel and apfelstrudel (apple strudel).

Our private tours include stays at Vienna’s most elegant luxury hotels, such as the Hotel Sacher, Park Hyatt Vienna, Rosewood Vienna and the newly opened Mandarin Oriental, Vienna.

We had a number of memorable experiences that immersed us in the history and culture of this great city, including a private tour of the outstanding Kunsthistorisches Museum outside opening hours, a private concert in the galleries of Belvedere Palace with views of Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss, and behind-the-scenes visits to Austrian heritage luxury brands, such as J. & L. Lobmeyr glass, Augarten porcelain and Jarosinski & Vaugoin silversmiths.

We also had a private tour of Villa Beer, a newly restored modernist house designed by Josef Frank and Oskar Wlach and completed in 1930.

All of our private Austria tours can be customized to include these types of activities. Other favorite experiences we can arrange during flexible private touring include visiting Schonbrunn Palace, Jewish heritage touring, visiting the Austrian National Library, and exploring legendary museums such as the Leopold and the Albertina. We also arrange restaurant reservations and tickets to performances at the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic.
