Bodysgallen Hall is a historic manor house with beautiful terraced gardens set amid more than 200 acres (80 hectares) of landscaped parkland in North Wales. A private family residence for centuries, the property is now a rambling hotel, restaurant and spa maintained by the National Trust where travelers on our private Wales tours can enjoy a meal or afternoon tea followed by a stroll in the grounds.

Built around a tower believed to date from the 13th century, Bodysgallen Hall developed into a family residence in the Elizabethan period. It was expanded in the 17th century and underwent further alterations over the centuries before a turn-of-the-20th-century restoration gave the sandstone exterior a more unified appearance.

The atmospheric drawing room and other interior spaces feature wood paneling, period fireplaces, family heraldry and antique furniture.

The stunning gardens of Bodysgallen Hall function as a natural extension of the house. Like the house, the gardens reveal layers of history in their styles, with Renaissance, Dutch and Arts & Crafts elements.

Verdant garden terraces open onto views across the Welsh countryside to iconic Conwy Castle and the peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.

A sunken garden with a parterre of herbs and box hedges is centered on a sundial dated 1678.

Stone staircases lead to a lily pond, garden rooms, topiary and a rose garden surrounded by lawns.

A walled kitchen garden supplies fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs to the hotel restaurant.
