Highlights of Malaysia

(9 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi

This private tour of Malaysia is ideal for first-time visitors. It features the best of vibrant Kuala Lumpur, historic Penang and the resort island of Langkawi, as well as accommodation at Malaysia’s finest luxury hotels and resorts.

Begin with three nights in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. During flexible private touring, see highlights such as colonial-era sites around Merdeka Square, the impressive Masjid Jamek mosque and the landmark Petronas Twin Towers. Explore neighborhoods such as Little India and Chinatown, and visit our favorite local food and crafts markets. Perhaps also visit Lake Gardens, a lush park in the city center, to see exotic birds, butterflies and orchids. Also opt to visit Batu Caves, a richly decorated Hindu shrine inside natural caverns. Or, tour one of KL’s excellent museums, such as the Islamic Arts Museum or National Museum. One day, take a private excursion to Malacca, one of the most important historical towns in Malaysia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Continue to the island of Penang for two nights. During flexible private touring, visit Georgetown, an atmospheric UNESCO World Heritage Site of colonial-era architecture and traditional shophouses. Also, opt to visit other island highlights such as Penang Botanic Gardens, perhaps sample some of Penang’s famous local cuisine, and take the funicular railway up Penang Hill for panoramic views. Penang is considered a foodie heaven and, as an alternative, you might like to visit a food market with a local chef followed by a private cooking lesson to learn the art of Malaysian Nyonya cuisine.

Next, spend three nights at an exclusive resort on the island of Langkawi, a tropical oasis in the Andaman Sea. During ample leisure time, relax, enjoy the beach, or take advantage of the facilities at your luxury resort, such as sea kayaks and sailboats. One day, a private boat charter will be arranged for a wildlife excursion with an island naturalist to see the rich and diverse wildlife of the native mangrove or opt for an afternoon of island-hopping. Upon request, additional touring and excursions can be arranged upon request, including diving or snorkeling activities, golfing, nature hikes, night market visits, and cultural touring across the island.

This tour can be extended to include additional destinations in Malaysia, such as the Cameron Highlands, Borneo, as well as in nearby countries such as Singapore and Thailand.
