Begin with several days of pure luxury and beachside relaxation at a resort in Jimbaran Bay. Days are free for you to enjoy the spa, beach, tennis, golf, water activities, cooking school, nearby shops, and superb local seafood restaurants as you please.

Next, fly the short distance to Yogyakarta, a university town on the neighboring island of Java. Yogya is renowned for its traditional arts, whitewashed villages, and proximity to Borobudur, the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Stay at the Amanjiwo, a favorite Aman resort, with views of Borobudur. With a private guide, explore nearby temples and royal palaces, visit galleries selling paintings by local artists, take an excursion to the Dien Plateau, or visit rural villages. One day, enjoy a memorable elephant ride and visit local villages.

Return to Bali for several days near Ubud in Bali’s interior. This region is renowned for art galleries, cafes, shops and traditional Balinese villages surrounded by lush rice fields. Spend a day touring eastern Bali, the island’s most traditional region, visiting remote villages and perhaps attending a local ceremony and festival. When not touring, take advantage of the resort’s facilities such as a spa and tennis courts, or enjoy river rafting, mountain biking, cooking classes, shopping tours, and visits to local temples, villages and markets.
