This comprehensive tour visits three islands in Indonesia and features the most interesting cultural touring and scenic attractions in each place. Accommodation is at luxury resorts known for their style, location and hospitality.

Begin on the island of Lombok. With a private guide and driver, explore the interior of this fascinating island. Visit deeply traditional rural villages known for their crafts (including pottery, weavings and basketry), see lush terraced rice paddies and beautiful volcanoes and waterfalls. Also enjoy free time at the seaside resort, and optional water activities (including great snorkeling and diving).

Next, travel by high-speed catamaran to Bali. Stay in Ubud, in Bali's interior. With your guide, tour the region according to your interests: perhaps tour the studios of noted artists and craftsmen; visit a local outdoor food market then have a cooking lesson at a village; visit the Monkey Forest, then explore Ubud’s most interesting museums and art galleries; tour local Balinese water palaces and important temples; attend local festivals; or enjoy whitewater rafting or mountain biking. During free time, enjoy Ubud’s many cafes and boutiques and take advantage of your resort’s spa and your private plunge pool.

Continue by air to the neighboring island of Java, to Yogyakarta, a university town renowned for its traditional arts, whitewashed villages, and proximity to Borobudur, the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Stay at the Amanjiwo, a favorite Aman resort, with views of Borobudur. With a private guide, explore nearby temples and royal palaces, visit galleries selling paintings by local artists, and enjoy optional activities such as an elephant through the nearby hills or a day meeting local artists in their galleries.
