Family Tour of Argentina

(12 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, El Calafate, Peninsula Valdes

Families will love the combination of family-friendly destinations and activities in this luxury tour of Argentina, which includes dynamic Buenos Aires, a traditional estancia in the pampas, awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls, spectacular Perito Moreno Glacier, and abundant wildlife around Peninsula Valdes.

Begin in Buenos Aires, one of South America’s most exciting cities. With your own private guide and driver, visit evocative neighborhoods filled with elegant architecture, historic attractions, excellent museums and other highlights. Browse lively markets, wander cobbled backstreets and enjoy ample leisure time to experience the exciting contemporary art and design scene, world-class restaurants and great shopping. One day, take a private excursion to an estancia in the pampas to learn about gaucho culture and experience the traditional estancia lifestyle.

Next, visit Iguazu Falls, one of the most spectacular natural attractions in the world. Stay in the finest hotel in the area, and tour both the Argentine and Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. With your private guide, explore hundreds of waterfalls streaming over high cliffs, travel through the jungle on an open train as butterflies flit about, and cruise up the Iguazu River for an unforgettable experience of the force of Iguazu Falls from below.

Fly to El Calafate to experience southern Patagonia’s vast open steppe and the impressive peaks, glaciers and pale blue lakes of Los Glaciares National Park. Visit magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier—one of the few advancing glaciers in the world—to see icebergs calving from its terminal face, and take a guided trek on top of the glacier itself.

Continue to Peninsula Valdes, one of the best wildlife reserves in Argentina and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to see penguins, whales, sea lions and other animals in the wild. During private touring, learn about the natural history of Atlantic Patagonia at a local museum, and visit a penguin colony where hundreds of Magellanic penguins often gather. Also, see groups of elephant seals and sea lions frolicking along the beach, an abundance of seabirds swooping among the cliffs, and guanacos and rheas roaming the rugged interior. One of the highlights of this destination is a whale-watching cruise. Southern right whales come to the bays around Peninsula Valdes to breed, offering a rare opportunity to see these gentle giants up close.

Return to Buenos Aires for a final night before your onward flight.
