Hanoi. The choice is yours: start your journey in Hanoi or opt to do this
tour in reverse, beginning in Saigon.
Hanoi
- Arrive in this remarkable city, which many liken to Paris because
of its French colonial architecture, stylish boutiques, and many galleries
and cafes.
- Spend your days exploring the Old Quarter and the Lake District.
- Delight in the superb restaurants, cafes, shops, and galleries for
which Hanoi is so well known.
- Take an excursion to Halong Bay, for a day spent cruising the dramatic
bay famously portrayed in Indochine.
Saigon
- Next, fly to Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh City, in the south of Vietnam.
This city is quickly making a name for itself as one of the most creative
cities in Asia, particularly known now for its new restaurants and designers.
- Take in the sights at small local produce markets, Chinatown, the
main shopping boulevard, and the Reunification Palace -- a cultural
and design relic well worth visiting.
- Explore the famed Cu Chi Tunnels and attending the fascinating mid-day
ceremony at the Cao Dai Temple -- a unique fusion of world religions.
- Spend a day visiting the Mekong Delta for the opportunity to experience
a very traditional side of Vietnamese life.
